My name is Nadine, and together with my wonderful husband Marcel, I developed Volummi.

Beauty innovations from around the world are definitely one of my great passions.

What handbags or shoes are to other women, beauty products are to me. Even as a little girl, I would write my age down as being several years older on paper so that I could order from cosmetics mail order companies. I was fascinated by the colorful packaging and the incredible advertising promises. Back then, I had no idea about the different quality characteristics or what was really behind the products or the respective companies.

Today, there are more and more great beauty innovations, thanks in part to the numerous startups that are addressing this topic.

A few years ago, when my hair became thinner due to hormonal changes, I turned my attention to hair ties for the first time. Suddenly, no hair tie would stay in place properly and my ponytail looked really thin. Unfortunately, I didn't get on very well with the usual volume tools or foldable hair ties either.

I wanted the perfect hair tie that would also add volume to my hairstyle. My vision was to develop the best hair tie in the world.

It all started with a colorful cardboard chocolate bar wrapper, which my husband used to make the very first prototype for me.

This was followed by 3D printing in Munich and then product development together with our production partner in Germany, with various plastics experts and engineers.

With feedback from our customers, we tested different designs, materials, and fasteners until we were able to fulfill all wishes.

After about two years of development, the result was Volummi—the unique volume hair tie:

• Visibly more volume and a perfect round shape in the hair
• Strong hold
• Comfortable to wear
• Dimensionally stable, i.e., no stretching
• Particularly gentle on the hair thanks to the special material and pressure distribution
• With button closure for gentle removal from the hair to reduce unnecessary “tearing” of healthy hair
• Particularly durable & 100% recyclable

Our goal is to delight our customers with great products and perhaps give them a little more self-confidence. Beauty is first and foremost a feeling.
